Itbe
Wondering what “Itbe” means exactly? I made it up! Itbe the perfect name for this shawl!
ITBE is a light summer shawl, knit up in a unique Japanese cotton tape yarn. To make this shawl you must embrace the Japanese concept of “wabi-sabi”; the idea that beauty lies in imperfection.
Kits for Itbe were sent as May 2021’s shipment for Lola’s Choice (Laura’s super fun small knitted kit club). There are now kits in 8 colors available here: http://www.nelkindesigns.com/itbe_kits
Itbe is worked from the top down with yarnover increase shaping, and asymmetrical short row garter wedges. It is finished with a simple lace border that uses only one increase and one decrease. Beads placed in the lacework add some glam to this dynamic and earthy yarn.
The pattern includes an in depth video tutorial with an extra special blocking sequence!
ERRATA rev1:
Row 17: K3, k3, yo, k3, cdd, k3, yo, k4 18 times, k2.
