“Where’s my hat?” You’ll always have a good idea of where to tell them to start looking with this hat. This is the second in a series of lightweight hats that you can easily carry in your coat pocket in case of an unexpected chill.

This is a very simple knit with an easily memorized stitch pattern, making it an ideal carry along project for when you have a spare moment to knit. The stitch pattern is super stretchy making this a one-size-fits-most knit. You can adjust the size by working with a heavier yarn and larger needles, but then it may no longer be a “pocket hat.”

This is a great pattern for self-striping yarns. Note that the sample hat used an ENTIRE skein of Felici. Feel free to substitute your favorite self-striping sock weight yarn. If you are using Felici or another yarn with similar yardage, be sure to work to row gauge. You may also want to work about 1/4” less on the hat body to be sure you won’t run out of yarn.

This pattern uses knit, purl, k2tog and slip stitches.

This pattern has written and charted instructions.
