This bottom-up beanie works similarly to my It’s Joyce’s Choice Messy Bun and Amy’s Choice patterns. However, it is a tad slouchier and has additional texture added, with alternating sections of half double crochet in the 3rd loop. Various yarn substitutions can be made, such as Rowan Chunky Cashmere carried with Rowan Felted Tweed, as in one of the samples. It can also be made in a cotton version, using Berroco Remix Chunky, almost a perfect substitution, so it can be worn in warmer weather. Further, it may be embellished with flowers or buttons, as well as adding a pompom at the crown; it’s really your choice, so have fun with it!
