Ivy Camera Strap Cover
Ever wanted to grumble about those cheap, dull shoulder straps that come with digital SLR cameras? Well here is a solution that will make your strap both comfortable and beautiful.
This camera strap cover is knitted in the round on DPNs, with a pretty ivy design on one side and an abstract Nordic-inspired design on the reverse. Being stranded, the resulting fabric is quite thick and makes for a very comfortable strap cover. Ribbed sections taper the ends of the cover.
The pattern is for a strap 73cm x 4.5cm, which will cover the wide portion of a standard Canon dSLR strap. Other brands tend to have straps of a very similar width, but do check the length and adjust accordingly if needed. Don’t get too hung up on gauge - just knit this thing!
Materials:-
One set of 3.0mm DPNs for the ribbed ends.
One set of 3.5mm DPNs.
Yarn:-
Coloured background worked in Rico Design Superba Poems in ‘Tropic’. Only approximately 11g of yarn needed.
Cream leaves and patterns worked in Rico Design Bamboo Uni in ‘Ecru’. Only approximately 11g of yarn needed.
Have fun, and email me (Occles) with any questions. :-)
