The Ivy poncho is a cosy poncho that is perfect for outdoor nature walks, sitting in the garden on cooler evenings, or for wrapping up in by the fire on a cold winter’s day. Wear it with the points at the front and back, or at the sides. Chunky/bulky yarn helps it to grow fast. A lovely, fashionable knit, for getting out and about.

The pattern is easy, so suitable for the confident beginner, or an easy project for the more experienced knitter. All patterns are formed with simply knit and purl stitches, and there is no shaping, so no increasing or decreasing. You need to able to cast/bind on and off, knit and purl, and sew up – photos are included to help with finishing. Line by line instructions, in English, with British and US terms. There is a finishing section with a diagram and photos to help sew it up. Knitted FLAT and sewn up.

Small adult;
Chest 76cm/30in to 101cm/40in.
Across at widest point, laid flat 84cm/33in.
From centre top to lower point 64cm/25in.
Neck edge to lower arm edge 46cm/18in.

Adult;
To fit chest approx. 81cm/32in to 122cm/48in.
Across at widest point, laid flat 91cm/36in.
From centre top to lower point 69cm/27in.
Neck edge to lower arm edge 51cm/20in.

If you have a chest size between 81cm/32in and 101cm/40in, you can choose between a tighter fit with the small adult size, or a looser fit with the adult size. (The model is wearing the adult size, although her chest is only 81cm/32in.) The small adult size will be a little shorter in the sleeve than shown in the photos. The poncho may hang a little differently on larger chest sizes, but still looks lovely!

• 2 (2) x 250g balls of Cascade Yarns Eco+ Wool - colour Smoke Heather (9450), (437m/478yds per 250g ball).

(Most chunky/bulky yarns should work well with this pattern, although amounts may vary and please check your tension/gauge.)
