Jacobean tote
Gauge/tension is using US 6/4 mm straight needles.
Yardage above (544yd) is for the Main Color (A) (4 balls of ecru color). You will also need small amounts of same yarn in 9 colors for intarsia pattern.
Main panels have no shaping. Handles are tubular loops.
“Tip” on p44: “The flower shape should be worked using the intarsia technique, but the detailing within them is best done in the Fair Isle technique. … You can work the flower pattern on one side of the bag only and just knit the other side in plain cream if you prefer. You may need an extra ball of the cream yarn to do this.”
Finishing includes embroidering stem stitch curls onto each side as shown on chart. (Requires a tapestry, or yarn, needle.)
Pattern is on pp.42-45 of the book.
