Jaime's Fingerless Mitties
This lovely pattern is free until 9 pm, PST, Tuesday, January 7, 2025. After that it will increase $1 every 24 hours until it reaches its final price of $4. Happy New Year, everyone!
This pattern was designed for my daughter in law. She loves purple. So, I chose the incredible Anzula Ava in sport weight and in an amazing color of purple called Grape! This is a cashmere blend and feels so luxurious! I used one skein and had just a bit left over. Every round is written out - no chart on this one to follow.
The lace with a cable is just so pretty. (I design my own lace for my patterns!) The mitts are designed to mirror each other. So the cable for the right mitt is the opposite of the cable on the left mitt. This is visually stunning. I also put the thumb gusset a little offset - again, they mirror each other - so they fit perfectly and the lace stays aligned down the center top of each hand. This is a little harder on the designer; but it’s of great benefit to the recipient of the mitts. The palm of both mitts is stockinette stitch. The lace pattern is only on the top of each hand. The wrist is ribbed to stay in place and the top of the mitt rolls to the right side for a bit of interest!
These fingerless mitts are called “mitties” since that’s what Jaime calls these cuties!
Every round is written out. You don’t have to keep track of when you increase, or which rows have the cable, it’s done for you. Enjoy this pattern; it’s a winner!
