Je Suis Charlie Cap
I began knitting this hat immediately after the tragedy in Paris and began receiving requests to create a pattern for it.
THIS PATTERN HAS BEEN SUBMITTED TO LOVEKNITTING.COM and should be available there in a few days.
I received 2 comments that all of the monies should go to charity, and as much of my design monies are used for charity, I will change the amount to 100% to Unicef. I chose Unicef as a worthy charity that helps children all over the world.
This hat was created to stand in solidarity with victims of violence all over the world, most especially the men and woman who went to work at Charlie Hebdo in Paris on 7 January, 2015 and didn’t return home. The sentiment is in French, but the meaning is universal
100 percent of pattern proceeds will go to UNICEF.

Make it a close fitting skull cap (Adult size / DK Weight shown in photo) or taller slouch cap. Leave off the pencil border if desired, choose a script or print version of “je suis.”
Knit this cap in DK weight wool. Instructions included for sport weight for a smaller hat, worsted weight for a larger hat. Read the notes for sizing and choosing correct yarns and needle sizes. Gauge is very important, so modify your needle size up or down to obtain gauge.
MOTIFS ARE CHARTED, REST OF PATTERN IS WRITTEN.
Sizing: Instructions same for all sizes, yarn weight & needle size determine final measurements. If in doubt, size DOWN a needle size to avoid a too large hat.
