Jefferson, also known as the Mad Hatter, has a special hat that helps him jump from world to world. Jefferson’s job as a portal jumper brings many people (Rumplestiltskin, Regina, and more) to seek his services. This ends up causing Jefferson trouble for him and his daughter, Grace, as he loses his wife because of his job. Later, Jefferson is separated from his daughter when things go wrong on one of his jumps. When his hat is destroyed, he goes mad trying to recreate it so he can be reunited with his daughter.
