Jess is named for a singer/songwriter friend of mine with an amazing voice and a penchant for hats.

The Jess hat is a soft & loose slouchy hat that works up quickly and looks especially great in color-changing yarn.

The sample was made using roughly 1 and 1/3 skeins of Lion Brand Amazing in “Olympia,” less than 200 yards.

Advanced beginner/Intermediate pattern: Crocheter should be familiar with post stitches, working in the round and in a spiral, and working in back and front loops of stitches.
