Joan of Arc
03-05-2020the amount of yarn is really flexible as you can knit this cowl in any yarn you like. Just increase until you can wrap comfortably around the neck and then add your desired length.
For the bulky version 288-300m of yarn is needed but as the length is variable you don’t need to panic. It will fit. If you want to wear it with the hood up make it long enough so your neck won’t be bare. Shivers

I’ve uploaded a new layout. The pattern is the same as before.
This chunky all-in-one wrap has it all. It’s a scarf, a shawl, a hood, it’s all you’ll need on a cold day (plus some clothing…). It’s a quick and fun knit with enough different stages to keep you going. Knit wise, it’s like a good read, you won’t be able to put it down. The chunky seed stitch gives a modern look but also refers to times passed by. A modern Joan of Arc.
Oh, and it looks great on men too!
You can use basically any yarn, just knit to the point when you thing the circumference is big enough, knit up en finish. Gauge isn’t crucial.
If you’re new to Ravelry, look on top of these details to find yarn ideas if you want to substitute the yarn. I design with European yarn mostly, but there’s some good suggestions there.
