The Johnnie beanie is perfect for self-striping yarns. It’s worked from the top down in spiral rounds and features head-hugging ribbing that finishes with an optional rolled edge (seen on the solid-color hats).

The ‘rickrack’ ribbing in this classic, unisex hat is created with post stitches worked in joined-and-turned rounds.

The intermediate level design is a cousin to my Tobey pattern, with different proportions and it uses less yarn.
