Jointed Rainbow Cowl
This cowl is knitted in the round as a tube and then the ends joined together. This cowl uses the Miniball 10 colour gradient set. The colours are blended into each other with a simple and easily memorised stranded colourwork section which resembles the joints used in woodworking.
This pattern works very well with a ‘circular’ gradient as shown, where the rainbow ends with a reddish purple that joins up with the red at the start. It would work equally well with random colours too, or two ends of a gradient yarn.
If you don’t like provisional cast on or grafting then you can seam the ends instead.
Knitted on a 3.5mm needle, you can make the cowl longer than shown with a Miniball 10 pack if you prefer.
If you have any problems with this pattern or choosing the Miniball colours then please send me a message or come over to our Wee County Yarns Ravelry group.
