Jomon
by Keiko Kikuno
Taking cues from the rope-patterned aesthetics found in ancient Japanese pottery from the Jomon period, Keiko’s design makes a striking statement with bobbles intertwined among cable motifs reminiscent of twisted cords. Worked from the bottom up using chunky Puffin, Jomon emulates the period’s distinctive style. The broad stand-up neck not only adds structural integrity but also pays homage to the form of Jomon pottery vessels.
Shown in size 42½” / 106 cm with 0-4” / 0-10 cm positive ease.
