Jora Blanket
The Jora Blanket has a simple geometric tapestry crochet design which builds up to create a stunning blanket.
Jora means “autumn rain” and for me this blanket evokes feelings of harvest and rain drops. Whatever the shapes remind you of, their attractive repeating simplicity makes the Jora Blanket a relaxing and mindful make, whilst creating a blanket with a truly striking pattern.
The pattern includes full written instructions, comprehensive pattern notes and a chart for making the blanket.
It also includes links to these video tutorials about techniques used in the blanket:
- Foundation double/single crochet (fdc/fsc) stitch - https://youtu.be/PDpyrolNJ1w
- General tapestry crochet – https://youtu.be/sqQxQQ-Szig
- Making sure the yarns don’t get tangled – https://youtu.be/i79K04YMj6U
There are two pdf files for the pattern. One is with UK crochet terms and the other is with US crochet terms.
The finished blanket measures 67 x 87 cm but this can easily be adjusted as explained in the pattern.
The blanket used the following yarn:
Hobbii Rainbow Bamboo (4 ply; 250m / 100g ball; 60% bamboo viscose, 40% cotton)
C1: 3 balls in Curry (20)
C2: 3 balls in Natural White (02)
C3: 1 ball in Ocean Blue (35)
You could substitute for other 4-ply yarns, or go up to a DK yarn or even thicker.
Hook: 2.5 mm
Crochet level: intermediate.
