Jordan Street Socks
When I was invited to design an advanced sock pattern for the Yarn Crush box subscription, my fingers started itching to create cables. I sketched these out while visiting a place from my childhood: Jordan Street. With ropes and braids and asymmetrical elements (let no part of the sock remain stockinette!), these socks are a reminder that life’s path is not always easy or straightforward… but the results often have an astonishing beauty.
Skills:
Knitting in the round, complex cables
Sizes:
- S: to fit 7”/18 cm foot circumference
- M: to fit 8”/20 cm foot circumference
- L: to fit 9”/23 cm foot circumference
Sample shown in Size M.
Yarn:
- S: 350 yards/320 m
- M: 380 yards/345 m
- L: 410 yards/375 m
Sample shown in Sweet Paprika Designs Allegretto (70% SW merino, 20% bamboo, 10% nylon), 410 yds/375 m per 115 g, colorway Glacier
Blocked Gauge:
32 stitches and 4 rounds = 4”/10 cm in stockinette in the round
Tools:
- At least 1 stitch marker; more may be useful to separate cable design elements
- Tapestry needle
Needles:
US 1 (2.25-mm) needles for knitting socks, or size needed to obtain gauge

ERRATA:
This pattern was originally part of the June 2018 Yarn Crush box. The printed version included in that box contained some errata.
If you have access to this pattern in your Ravelry library, you’ll find the file “Jordan Street Socks by Kino Knits, v.2” which is the most up-to-date version, with full written directions and charts and with all known errata corrected.
If you are working from the paper copy included in the June 2018 Yarn Crush box, here are the errors corrected in bold:
