Joyce Square
This PDF pattern contains written instructions and round by round colour photos to create the beaded flower square in the photos.
You will receive two files: UK terminology & US terminology.
For this project you will need:
-An assortment of DK yarn in suitable colours for the flower (centre and two tones for the petals), leaves and a background block colour. Perfect for stashbusting or using up scraps.
-Size 6 seed beads (10 per anemone) I bought mine from Spellbound Beads (see photo).
-3.5mm crochet hook.
-A lace hook for the beading (must fit through the bead), I used a Tulip size 0.5mm.
The finished square is approx 6” wide.
I designed this flower in tribute to my amazing nanny Joyce and the fond memories of my childhood in her beautiful garden, always full of flowers. My nan brought so much joy and colour to my life and I hope this project brings you joy too.
If you have enjoyed making this square, have a look at my Joyce’s Garden Wrap pattern, which uses the flower part of this pattern, alongside some forget-me-nots, all joined with a lacy join to create a beautiful floral wrap: a warm hug like the ones my nan used to give.
I made 9 squares to create the cushion and 10 squares to create a bag. It would also make a lovely blanket, or could be used combined with other squares.
You are welcome to sell finished items made from this pattern but please credit me Alice Tarry, The Burrow Uk, as the designer.
