For this anniversary edition, Maaike van Geijn revisited her popular Wervel design in a festive cardigan version. Jubilee Wervel is worked seamlessly from the top down with a striking colourwork yoke, then steeked at the front and finished with folded front bands using a knitted sandwich steek for a polished look. The reversible fabric adds an extra dimension, with the inside reminiscent of a pointillist painting. After the yoke, the work continues at a larger gauge using larger needles. This clever shift — Maaike’s Fast Forward Fix — makes the remainder of the knitting faster while allowing you to fully enjoy the most intricate section.

NOTES
This cardigan is worked in one piece, from the top down, starting with the neckline. It is completely seamless and features a colourwork yoke, as well as a small colourwork detail at the bottom of the sleeve. A series of short rows is worked in the neckline before the colourwork section to shape the neckline of the sweater. After the yoke you will change to a larger gauge to speed up the knitting of the body and sleeves. Sleeve stitches are picked up after finishing the body and are knitted in the round. Once the body and sleeves are finished, the cardigan is steeked at the front and finished with bands using a knitted folded sandwich steek, fully hiding and securing the steek. Lastly, a folded knitted collar is attached to the cardigan.
