Jumping Child
Description from book:
When I was working for a manufacturing company, one of my first assignments as to make a hat with children as the motif. I made a hat using different colors and children knitting into the fabric with intarsia. When I presented the design to the company, they sent me back to the drawing board. Then I came up with the appliqué version of the child. The deisgn came to like and had much more energy and interest. They loved it. Part of the fun of making knitting appliqué is that the fabric is so flexible, you can stretch your appliqué into many different shapes as you sew it on.
