Junia
Junia is a slightly slouchy toque with a touch of embroidery around the brim. This hat is looks great in a solid color or you can embroider the brim with your stash of hand painted yarn left overs for a pop of contrasting color.
The hat is knit sideways starting with a provisional cast on. To make it easier to embroider the leaf pattern onto the hat, the embroidery pattern set-up is knit into the fabric of the hat. Yarn overs and purl bumps on RS rows will be used to indicate where to make embroidery stitches. The two sides of the hat are then joined with the kitchener stitch and the embroidery is added after. The pattern includes a chart describing how to make the embroidery stitches.
Yarn: This hat uses approximately 200 yds for the M size and 220 yds for the L size.
Notions: crochet hook, waste yarn, 3 stitch markers, tapestry needle
Finished size: 10 inches from crown to brim, 18( 20) inches in circumference
-This pattern uses short rows and a garter stitch kitchener graft.
