Hold up! Can you wait just a moment? Be right back! I have a little something to make for fall mornings in my studio when I need just a bit of warmth. The Just A Sec Mitts are super straight forward and you can have a pair knitted up super fast! Simple they may be, but the elegant finishing details will have you making pair after pair.

Starting out with my i-cord cast-on hack (no more elongated stitches in that first round!), there’s a short section of 2x2 ribbing, and then some lovely relaxing stockinette in the round. I’ve included my jogless stripe join, and an i-cord bind-off following an eyelet round to relax that tendency of stockinette stitch to roll. Perfect.

The sample for the Just a Sec Mitts uses scraps of left-over A Verb for Keeping Warm Annapurna (sport weight) yarn from my Colorica Cardigan.

Welcome to my oddments project number three! (See the first one here and the second one here.)

I continue to read comments from people overrun with yarn scraps and wanting something to do with them…so I’m going to continue to put these fun little patterns out! This year, I’m focused on wearables for the wrists, hands, ankles, and feet.

They’re different weights and different colors. Some are a full skein. Some are just leftover tidbits, but you can’t throw them away! Definitely not a sweater’s worth of any one color or yarn, let alone a shawl’s worth or even a full pair of socks or mitts. You can’t imagine what to do with them, but you don’t want to part with them. Well then. Ranging from the whimsical to the more traditional, these patterns will be the friends your yarn oddments so desperately need! 12 patterns to breathe life into your scraps and let them be useful once again.

The patterns for this eBook will be delivered to subscribers within a subscription period beginning on 3 November 2023, and ending 31 October 2024, one per month.
