This design was inspired by the beautiful modern stained glass windows of the LA SAGRADA FAMÍLIA. The way the sunlight poured through the glass creating a myriad of beautiful gradient colours.
CONSTRUCTION:
The yoke neck sweater is knitted seamlessly from the top down. Short rows are added to shape the neckline and back.
The yoke is not colourwork but instead uses woven cross stitch, where you only work with one colour at a time, to create the pattern.
For the woven cross stitch section, you can use a single colour, or it’s a great project to use up scraps of yarn as I did and create a gradient effect.
There is a detailed photo tutorial for the woven cross stitch if you need it. It’s a fun stitch, that’s not difficult, buy the visuals help to get you going and understand how to make the stitch if you’ve not tried it before.
The sleeves are designed to be full length with a woven
cross stitch cuff, but you can make your sleeves any length without the woven cross stitch detail.
FINISHED CHEST MEASUREMENT:

This sweater has been test knitted by a very helpful and hard working group of knitters. The pattern was rewritten to make the sleeves a little more roomy and to reduce the rippling on the yoke. You might see this in the test knits. I’d like to thanks all of my testers for helping me make this pattern so much better!
the pattern has also been Tech Edited by Handknitsandhygge.
I try and keep pattern costs down as much as possible. If you would like to leave a thank you for my designs then please leave a small tip on Ko-fi
