I found this phrase on a google search. It means “happy medium” and that is the perfect description for this cowl. Mostly garter stitch with a lace edge that consists of a simple 6 row repeat, it combines the best of both worlds. Garter stitch with just enough edging to keep the knitting interesting but not overwhelming.

This cowl is knit from side to side so it is easy to make it larger (or smaller) by just continuting the 6 row pattern repeat until it is the length you want. Buttonholes are created along the garter edge using a simple yo as decreases are work so they end up creating a diagonal edge. You will need 5 buttons (3/4” size), one sititch marker, and a tapestry needle to complete this project.
