Kachina Peak shawl was inspired by our travels to Taos, New Mexico.

Kachina Peak (3 804m/12 480ft) is a picturesque mountain located in the Wheeler Wilderness Area of the Sangre de Cristo Range. It is best known as the summit of Taos Ski Valley. It is one of the tallest lift-accessed peaks in the US.

Kachina Peak shawl is a triangular shape, worked sideways in a mosaic pattern. Only one color is worked at the time. First, the main body is worked sideways. All the edges of the main body are finished with a slip stitch. After the main body of the shawl is complete, you will pick up the stitches from the slip-stitch edge for the bottom border, which is knit top down. After finishing the border, you will pick up stitches to finish the neck edge.

GAUGE: 25 sts x 46 rows = 4” in slip stitch pattern
