The Kajakakiri Stole symbolizes history, beginning in Haapsalu, Estonia, where there lay a very special knitting bench located along the historic promenade path. Today, this bench is a meeting place that holds the tradition of lace knitters gathering to knit and sell their shawls and scarves.

• Soft Touch Lace, 100% wool yarn, laceweight, 550 yards (502.9 m)/50 gram (1.76 oz) ball, 3 balls of Natural White; www.shelridge.com
• Needles, single point 10 inches (25.4 cm), size 2 (3 mm), size 4 (3.5mm), and 1 size 8 (5mm), and circular, 32 inches (80.0 cm) or 40 inches
• Notions: Markers; tapestry needles

Finished Size: About 23¼ inches (59 cm) wide and 58¾ inches (149 cm) long, after blocking

Gauge: 27 sts and 36 rows = 4 inches (10.2 cm) in Zigzag patt on smallest needles, after blocking
