Crescent shape shawl inspired by the pattern from the Haapsalu Sall book. Knitted in lace weight yarn from the bottom up. Lace first, short rows second. And finished with I-cord bind off, to control curling…
Shawl can be worked from written instructions or charts.
A lot of stitches to cast on. Nupps worked on a wrong side. Cable stitch is not hard at all especially if you master the needle-less cable method.
Kalina (kah-lee-nah) is Russian name for Viburnum opulus - Guelder Rose. Beautiful shrub especially in August when the berries are ripe, and the leaves turn to a bright red or rich purple before falling.
