Kanan is a cabled hat utilizing drastic increases to quickly produce the beloved flop we all know and love, slouch. Kanan quickly develops it’s winding twists, keeping you engaged to the crown where the decreases create a petal-like finish.

Yarn requirements:
Hikoo Kenzie (50% New Zealand merino, 25% nylon, 10% angora, 10% alpaca 5% silk noils); 160 yds / 50 g: #1002 Grey Salt, 2 skeins or comparable yarn.

Needles:
US size 6 (4mm) and size 8 ( 5mm) 7” dpns, size 8 (5mm) 20” circ needles (circs optional). Adjust needle size to obtain correct gauge.

Gauge:
19 sts and 32 rnds = 4” in 1x1 rib
24 sts and 28 rnds = 4” in Cable st

Difficulty:
Advanced beginner; skills: cables, increasing, decreasing, working in the round
