I designed “Katarina’s Cape” for my friend Katarina as a surprise from her boyfriend. He wished for a lady like design. With Katarina in front of my eyes, I knew it had to be a cape, best with a Lace pattern and of course in a beautiful red.

The cape is knitted top-down in a simple Lace pattern, with variation. The serrated edge at the neckline is created by itself thanks to the Lace pattern.

Worked in Penny Lane Yarns “Wonder Lane” (50% Mulbeery Silk, 50% Baby Camel) it is not only a dream to wear but also to knit.
I choosed the Color way “ Lipstick”

Gauge
25 sts and 29 rnds per 10 cm / 4 in, worked in the round in stitch pattern 1, after blocking.
Changes in gauge will result in size differences and affect the amount of yarn needed to complete the project. Please take the time to check your gauge.

Construction
The cape is worked top down.
Stitch pattern 1: Neckline
Stitch pattern 2: Increasing the stitches (doubling the amount) and knitting till your desired length (appr. 30 cm / 12 in, shoulder till ellbow).
Stitch pattern 3: Lower body edging.

Katarina’s Cape habe ich für meine Freundin Katarina designed als Überraschung von ihrem Freund. Er wünschte sich ein lady like Design aber lies mir sonst alle Freiheiten. Mit Katarina vor Augen, war mir klar, es musste ein Cape sein, am Besten mit einem Lace Muster und natürlich in einem wunderschönen Rot.

Das Cape wird top-down gestrickt in einem einfachen Lace Muster, mit Variation. Der Zackenrand am Halsausschnitt ergibt sich dank dem Lace Muster von alleine.

Maschenprobe
25 M und 29 Rd per 10 cm / 4”, Muster 1 in der Runde gestrickt, nach waschen und spannen.
Arbeitest du mit einer anderen Maschenprobenzahl hat dies Einfluss auf die Grösse des Capes und den Wollverbrauch um das Projekt fertig zu stellen, ändern.

Konstruktion
Das Cape wird von Oben nach Unten in Runden gestrickt.
Muster 1: Schulterausschnitt (ergibt automatisch einen Zackenrand)
Muster 2: Maschenanzahl verdoppelt und bis zur gewünschten Länge (ca. 30 cm / 12 in, Schulter bis Ellenbogen) stricken.
Muster 3. Das Taillienbündchen.
