This poncho has been created for people who are really sensitive to the cold (like me -_-) and who love to hide in warm bulky yarn in winter.

This pattern is knit from side to side, back and forth.

This is not a difficult pattern. The textured motif is worked on 4 rows, really easy to remember for the beginners, and cables are easy to make every 6 rows. There are a few increases and decreases to shape the shoulders ; sleeves are obtained by simply sewing front and back together with a button ; neckline draws herself thanks to false cables.
No sewing, no special cast on or bind off needed.

Moreover, even if you are not quite familiar with all the techniques used in this pattern, have no worry !They are fully described in step-by-step video tutorials (links are given in the pattern). Please, be aware that the videos are in French. But I think using the visual support is enough to understand. Still you may fin other videos in your own language on the net.

You can, as you want, knit a shorter or longer version to adjust the poncho to your bust length, add fringes or not.
You can find sizes in this pattern, from 65 to 135 cm of bust measure, so that the poncho can be knit for a 8 or 10 years old or an adult.

Katoptron est un poncho créé pour les frileuses qui aiment se lover dans de grosses laines bien chaudes l’hiver.

Il s’agit d’un modèle qui se tricote d’un coté à l’autre, en aller-retour.

Niveau difficulté, il ne demande pas une grande expérience du tricot.

La preuve : le point relief se travaille sur 4 rangs, très faciles à retenir même pour les plus débutantes, les torsades s’obtiennent facilement en croisant les mailles tous les 6 rangs. ; il y a quelques augmentations puis diminutions pour dessiner les épaules ; les manches s’obtiennent en fermant simplement les cotés à l’aide d’un bouton cousu ; l’encolure est obtenue grâce à des croisements de mailles. Aucune couture, aucun montage ou rabat spéciaux ne sont nécessaires.

Le poncho peut être, à l’envie, allongé ou raccourci pour s’ajuster à votre longueur de buste, décoré de franges ou non. Il est proposé en 5 tailles, couvrant les tours de poitrine allant de 65 cm à 135 cm.
