Keep Me in Your Heart
“Keep Me In Your Heart” was one of the last songs written and recorded by Warren Zevon as he was dying. It is a simple, beautiful song that makes my heart swell enough to hold all of those whom I love, every time I hear it.
This heart pocket is just the size for a sweet little something for someone you love: a piece of chocolate, a note that says “I love you,” plans for a romantic night out. Whatever token of your affection it holds, it’s sure to keep you in their heart.
The pattern features a patch pocket with a simple intarsia heart motif. The pocket is sewn onto a plain background, and mounted on a frame of craft sticks. Decorative ties can be added to hang it from a hook, or magnets can be glued to the back of the frame.
This is an excellent project for practicing intarsia and Judy’s Magic Cast-On (JMCO), without investing a lot of time and materials.
The motif can be done in duplicate stitch instead of intarsia, but that will require more yarn for the pocket background. It can also be easily replaced to suit different occasions: a pine tree for Christmas, the initial of the recipient, or just do stripes of your favorite team’s colors!
6 new charts for Christmas have been added as a separate .pdf! Holiday_Keepers.pdf only has the new charts. For the instructions, you also need Keep_Me_In_Your_Heart.pdf.
