This shrug is made from the top down starting with the back, then joining to make the fronts, seaming the sides, then a choice of tie or button edging and lastly the sleeves.

3.5mm, 4mm, 4.5mm crochet hooks (See the size chart for which hook size to use)
Scissors, Stitch markers, Tape measure
GAUGE
With a 3.5 / 4 / 4.5 / 4.5 / 4 / 4.5 / 4 mm hook
Row 1: Ch20, sc in the 2nd chain from hook, sc 18. (19)
Row 2: ch1, dc in the first, skip 2, shell in the next, skip 2, dc x 3.
Row 3: ch1, dc in the first, skip 3, shell in the ch1 space, skip 3, dc x 3.
Row 3 should measure 4 / 4.5 / 5 / 5 / 4.5 / 5 / 4.5 inches across
TIP: The height of the gauge is not too important as you will be working to lengths, so go with the hook that gets the best width.
