Pattern description from Interweave Knits, Winter 2007: “Using five colors of a wool/mohair/alpaca blend yarn, Kristin Nicholas tames a riot of color and texture into a pair of color-work Kilm Gloves. Reverse colors form right to left for a quirky, have-to-look-twice set.”

Finished Size: 6.5 (8, 8.75)“ hand circumference, to fit a child (woman, man).

Yarn: Nashua Handknits Julia (50% wool, 25% mohair, 25% alpaca; 93 yd 85 m/50 g): #NHJ5178 lupine (periwinkle), #NHJ4936 blue thyme (turquoise), #NHJ1220 tarnished brass (mustard), #NHJ3961 ladies mantle (yellow-green), #NHJ9235 anemone (purple), #NHJ6086 velvet moss (dark green), 1 skein each. Yarn distributed by Westminster Fibers.

Needles: Sizes 7 (4.5 mm) and 6 (4 mm): set of 4 double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Markers (m); stitch holders; tapestry needle.

Note from Interweave Knits, Winter 2007: “Gloves are not identical. Work one glove according to directions outside brackets and the second glove according to directions inside brackets. When three numbers are presented in parentheses, these represent different directions for each size, not left and right glove.”
