Kingston Vest
Description
The Kingston Vest is a tabard style vest, which is basically a vest with
a front and a back but no sides. It is a great layering piece to wear
under your coat for extra warmth, or as an alternative to a traditional
vest that works well with an oversized shirt or t-shirt.
The vest is longer in the back and the fit can be adjusted by
making the side tabs longer or shorter.
This vest is knit flat in two pieces, from the bottom up, then sewn
together at the shoulders. The neck trim is knit on using circular or
double pointed needles. Pattern is both charted and written out.

Notes
CHARTS: Wrong side (odd numbers) rows are worked from left to right. Right side (even numbers)rows are worked from right to left.
Take note of the row you are on in the pattern when you shape the armholes and shoulders on the back so you do the shaping on the front on the same rows.
If you elect to make the vest longer or shorter, divide the amount evenly between the side length and the armhole length- Example: If you want to make it 1” longer, make the side length ½” longer and the armhole ½” longer)
The fit of this garment is adjustable. Try it on before you make the side tabs to figure out how much ease you want and then determine how long the tabs should be.
