Intricate cables-within-cables wend their way from side to side across the spirited Kinriver poncho, calling to mind meandering rivulets and streams making their way through a lush green countryside. Knit from cozy, soft 100% Merino wool, Kinriver is a flexible layering piece that can be worn open and loose as a traditional poncho, or closed along the bottom edge with buttons that form oversized sleeves.

Kinriver is knit in one piece from side to side, dividing briefly for the neck opening. The 82-stitch cable-and-seed panel is reversed on the back. Two-row buttonholes in the garterstitch border are worked along with the body, while a cozy ribbed collar is picked up and knit on afterwards.

Cable pattern is written and charted.
