Kiwi!
Yes, he’s a kiwi – the bird, not the fruit. Kiwis have unusual feathers that look more like fur and they are the national symbol of New Zealand. Actual kiwis are about the size of a domestic chicken and all 5 species are considered endangered – all the more reason to love the knitted version!
Gauge is not critical in this pattern, but using a small needle size ensures stuffing stays put.
The colour number for the Snowdrops Chunky I used was col. 0349. While your project will require most of 50g of the textured yarn, you will only need about 10g/22m of brown and about 1g/2m of the yellow in the worsted weight yarns.
You’ll need something to stuff your Kiwi with of course, along with eyes of some type - I used wee little buttons but you may choose to embroider eyes on instead for a safer version for tiny tots.
