These lovely thick 8-ply socks will be great for gardening in Winter or for wearing with boots. If you are new to knitting socks, 8 ply can be a bit easier to get started with as the tension is easier to maintain and the stripe pattern allows you to see where you have got to with your decreases. If you are not keen on stripes, you can knit them plain and will need three 50g balls of the same colour.
