Got a skein (or 2) of precious vacation fingeringweight yarn that’s been waiting and waiting for a special project? This pattern is your permission to finally cast it on.
A wider, and trianglular, version of the Life of A KnitGirl scarf, this project is worked in the same lace pattern but with fingering yarn and different shaping. Worked side-to-side as a long triangle, size xs is more of a kerchief, while a small will make a light triangular-ish scarf, and size medium (shown) uses up more of your yarn and heads into shawlette territory.
This is one of those projects to savor.
The lace pattern is both fully charted and written out line-by-line, so I’ve got you covered.
Materials: Sizes XS(S, M) require 1(1, 1) skein of Yarn Snob A Luxurious Fingering (437 yds/100 g, shown in Porcelain Rose, size M) or 1(1, 2) skein of Miss Babs Damask (420 yds/100 g, shown in Cassiopeia size S), or 2(2, 3) skeins of Miss Babs Sojourn (200 yds/50 g, shown in Old Gold size S), or
360(400, 420) yds of fingeringweight yarn.
A 24” size 7 (4.5 mm) circular needle or size needle required to achieve gauge,
A tapestry needle, and a double pointed needle (for bind off).
Helpful to have a kitchen scale to check your yarn weight if you wish to lengthen.
Finished Measurements: Approximately 12 ½(13 ½, 14 ½)” deep and 55 ¼ (57 ¼, 60)” from tip to tip along the straight edge after blocking.
