Pattern Notes

KNITSONIK Bunting contains instructions and charts for producing individual bunting flags, each of which is worked in the round with a steek. Each flag attains its distinctive triangular shape through paired increases incorporated into its chart.

Once the colourwork portion of each flag is complete, the steek stitches are laddered, unravelled, and cut. A garter stitch top border with eyelets is worked flat, after which the cut yarn ends are knotted and trimmed to produce a decorative fringe.

Once several flags have been created, a length of i-cord is worked and threaded through the eyelets in the garter stitch top border of each flag.

Gauge & Needles

28 sts/30 rounds to 10cm/4” over colourwork pattern using gauge-size needles. Sample flags knit with 3.25mm (UK 10/US 3) needles; use your preferred needles for working small-diameter projects in the round. Work and block a swatch in the round or make a single KNITSONIK Bunting flag as your gauge swatch. Gauge-size dpns required if working i-cord by hand.
