Knitted/Felted Giraffe
This giraffe joins the other animals at the Pattern Box … and, like the others, the giraffe is a quick, simple knit, working in the round on size US 8 double-pointed needles. After knitting, it’s felted in your washing machine. The horns and tail are just one strand of Cascade 128 felted with the rest of the pieces and cut to size! The legs are string jointed so he can move. Eyes can be embroidered or you may use glass eyes. The 7-page pattern includes directions for knitting, felting, string jointing and attaching glass eyes.
I used Ella Rae Classic Merino in the print color 202, so there’s no color changes and no spots to knit! The hooves, tail and horns are made with Cascade 128 (the chunky Cascade). Be sure you use wool yarn that felts … definitely not superwash!
Why not turn your backyard into a jungle? This is the pattern for the giraffe only, but the elephant and lion are available, too!
