This little blue jay is first knitted in the round on size US 8 double-pointed needles, then felted in your washing machine. After he’s been stuffed and dried, wool roving has been needle-felted onto his body. The roving makes details easy! The wings and tail feathers are wet felted pieces, but you could substitute purchased felt, instead. The beak is also wet felted. The pattern booklet includes directions for knitting, felting, needle felting, wet felting and attaching glass eyes. This is a project that is lots of fun! If you’ve ever wanted to experiment with needle felting or wet felting, this little guy is a perfect place to start. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me.
