NEW RELEASE: This pattern is 30% off now through 1/26/25 MT!

This may look like a giant chunky “knitted” afghan, but it’s not … it’s crochet! It takes seven rows of interlocking filet crochet to create one “row of knitting”. The Knitted with Crochet afghan has a gingham-style design made up of stockinette, garter and seed stitch patterns, with a K1P1 ribbing at each end.

The afghan is super-sized so everyone can snuggle up together on the sofa for movie night! An optional shortened version is provided as well!

This pattern provides both row-by-row written instructions as well as design charts for reference. Since it contains many diagonals to create the design, it is recommended for someone who is comfortable with the interlocking filet mesh technique. If you haven’t tried diagonals on an interlocking filet mesh project yet, you can learn how on my YouTube Channel by watching Interlocking Filet Mesh: From Start to Diagonals.

In addition to typical interlocking filet crochet, and the use of diagonals, several specialized stitches have been designed to create a three-dimensional look. The use of two different hook sizes also enhances the three-dimensional effect.

The Stockinette Pillow and Garter Stitch Pillow are also included in this pattern set.
