Knot Your Average Headband
Stay warm in style with this headband that combines the classic twisted turban with a knotted cable stitch. Knitted in worsted, this headband has an optional knitted, no-sew lining for keeping ears nice and warm during the coldest winter blasts.
The headband is fastened at the back with two buttons.
The pattern has complete written instructions, a schematic, optional charts for the cables, and a link to a video tutorial for the knotted cable. Any knitter who has a little experience with a cable needle will be successful with this pattern.
Some worsted yarns in natural fibers are suggested. To make the headband as shown, use Malibrigo Yarn Merino Worsted, 100% Merino wool, 210 yds, color Pigeon #507. Any worsted or Aran yarn is suitable as long as it has good stitch definition (that is, not too fuzzy).
Equipment:
US Size 8 (5mm) straight knitting needles
Cable needle
Yarn or Tapestry needle
Sewing needle
Materials:
100 yards of worsted weight yarn
Two ¾” buttons
Thread matching the color of the yarn
