As the name suggests, the Koi Pond Cowl is representative of a small school of koi swimming in a lily pad studded pond. This double-knit cowl will keep you warm as you wait for spring to reappear!

Update - Needle sizes listed should give you approximately the correct gauge. If you knit loosely, go with a smaller needle, if you knit tighter go with a larger needle.
Skill level - Intermediate

Skills Needed -

Double-knitting, stranded colorwork, or intarsia
Provisional Cast On
Kitchener Stitch

Yarn -

650-700 yards of Worsted or Aran Weight yarn, 325-350 yards of main color and 325-350 yards of contrasting color.

Needles -

2 US size 2 (2.75 mm) 16” or 24” circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge

Notions -

Waste yarn
Tapestry needle
2 Stitch holders or spare circular needles

Finished Dimensions-
Circumference - 52 inches (132 cm)
Height - 10.5 inches (27 cm)

Additional Notes-

Needle Size and yarn amounts are given for the double-knitting. You can use the chart to make the cowl with other colorwork techniques, keep in mind that you will likely use less yarn and a different needle size! You can also use the chart to craft a scarf if desired.
