The main mitten motif features a close-up section of the ‘edderkopp’ (spider) pattern, also known as the ‘kongro’ (daddy longlegs) pattern. While the name might not be super appealing to us arachnophobes, it’s amusing that other common names for the kongro is ‘spinnkjerring’ (spinning hag) and ‘vevkjerring’ (weaving hag).

Yarn
Rauwerk Merino DK (100% Bavarian merino wool, 220 m / 241 yds, 100 g), or any other DK weight non-superwash yarn. See alternatives here.

50 g of Kalk (main colour)
50 g of Gold Pippau / Obsidian (contrast)

Needles
Gauge-size needles and 0.5 mm below gauge-size needles for working small circumferences in the round.
The sample was made using 4 mm (US 6) and 3.5 mm (US 4) mm needles.
