“Konpeito” is one of the traditional Japanese sweets.
It’s a star-shaped rock candy.
When I was a girl, I learned ballet.
“Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” in Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite is translated in Japanese as “Dance of the Konpeito Fairy”.
I really loved that melody and dance on it, so it was very special to me.
When I saw this yoke, I thought it looks like konpeito.
So I named the pattern “Konpeito”.

This pattern is knitted top-down using some mosaic knitting, eyelets, stockinette stitch, and a little bit of garter stitch.

You’re able to make buttonhole and button band at the same time while knitting this body in this pattern. So, it’s not necessary to pick up stitches for button band after body completed.

I want to make this cardigan unisex. So, I attached the buttons to right side of front this time.

子供の頃、クラシックバレエを習っていました。
使われていた曲の中でも、くるみ割り人形の金平糖の踊りは
大好きで特別なものでした。
今回、このカーディガンのヨークの模様をみたとき、
金平糖みたいだなと思い、名前をKonpeitoにしました。
お楽しみいただけたらうれしいです。

このパターンはトップダウンで往復編みで編み進めます。
いくらかのモザイクニッティングとアイレット、メリヤス編みとほんの少しのガーター編みで構成されています。

今回、ユニセックスなデザインにしたかったため、右前身頃にボタンをつけることにしています。
