This pattern is for a pair of Japanese stitched socks. The sock incorporates both mock cables and traditional cables. There is small lace faggotting to allow for extra give, making them more comfortable: they will hug your ankle/leg without being too tight. There is small amount of lace work to increase the comfort. They are a fun knit making them a great finished pair of socks, for yourself or for a gift. The back and front are the same until the heel flap.
Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting and various forms of cabling).
The focal stitch is both charted and written out. If you are using the written section, it is always wise that you have a working knowledge of the chart.
This pattern is written for 2 circular needles and is written for sizes Small, Medium
Large and Extra Large, and is sized by gauge (if you want to adjust your size from M, be sure to adjust your yarn so it matches your new needle size). MOST women wear socks in size M (shoe size 6 - 9)
The sock pictured here was made with Malabrigo’s Ultimate sock yarn, in colorway, Polar Morn, and was expertly tested by alicia.gourley@gmail.com
This pattern is available here on Ravelry and in my Etsy shop in cabled sock section (https://www.etsy.com/shop/WearableArtEmporium?section_id=…)
