Who doesn’t love a good legend? The Kraken Scarf is inspired by old illustrations of the mysterious eight-armed sea monster that brought ruin to many a sailor. Now the Kraken has jumped from page to knitting needle and is eager to wrap its tentacles around your neck… and bring you warmth and coziness!

This double-sided stranded colorwork scarf is worked in the round as an open tube using two or three colors in either DK or fingering weight yarn. Four decorative border options with corresponding center dividers and inverted charts are included within the pattern.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Needles
16” circular needles in size US 5 (3.75 mm) for DK weight yarn
16” circular needles in size US 3 (3.25 mm) for fingering weight yarn

or any needle that achieves gauge/desired size.

Two or three contrasting colors in DK or fingering weight yarn. Sample is shown using Berroco Vintage DK in gray (MC), teal (CC1), and black (CC2).
