Kyudo is the Japanese art of archery and knitting this shawl reminded me of it, you concentrate for a little bit and can then get lost in stitches.
This shawl is first knit sideways and spiced up by a few short rows, with a wavy lace edging added later. The edging is a Feather and Fan variation that is easy to work and complements the shawl shape. Although you have to pick up stitches for the border, slipped stitches along the body of the shawl make this easier.

Pattern is exclusively available as part of a kit at Schibot Garne until August 8, 2016. The first update is today, July 7, 6pm (UTC+2). Last picture shows colours available in this kit.

Finished size 60 by 18” or 152 by 45 cm at its deepest point

Yarn MC – One skein (440 yds/400 m per 100g) 4ply/fingering weight yarn
CC – At least 40g (approximately 175 yds/160 m) 4ply/fingering weight
Suggested yarn: Schibot Garne Soft Socks (80% Merino, 20% Nylon; 440 yds/ 400m per 100g), 4ply/fingering weight
Colours used: Deep deep down (MC) and Magical (CC)

Gauge 24 sts by 48 rows = 4” / 10cm in garter stitch, unblocked (Gauge is not important for this shawl but will affect yardage, finished size and fabric drape.)

Needles One circular needle size US 5/3.75 mm, at least 24”/60 cm long

Dieses Tuch wird erst seitwärts gestrickt und mit Hilfe von ein paar verkürzten Reihen aufgepeppt. Dann wird eine Zierkante mit Lacemuster angesetzt. Hebemaschen erleichtern dabei das Aufnehmen für die Kante.
