La Nadadora
As a triathlete who didn’t really swim before the ripe old age of 28, I spend a great deal of my training time face down in a swimming pool attempting to become one with the water. Recently I found myself hypnotized by the play of sunlight on the tiles on the bottom of the pool, and was inspired to recreate those shimmering swirls in a pair of socks.
These socks are knit from the toe-up with a simple knit-purl tile design, allowing the beauty of the semi-solid yarn to shine. A two color ribbed cuff and picot bind-off finish off the leg.
The pattern includes two charts. The finished sock sizes are 7 8, 9 inches around the foot when unstretched. The size L socks pictured used less the one skein of Socks that Rock lightweight for the main color, and approximately 50 yds of contrasting yarn for the cuff.
