NOTES
The back piece of the vest is worked first from the bottom up and the stitches are bound off. Next, the stitches for the left front are picked up from the bind-off edge (this seam gives the vest some stability) and the front piece is worked from the top down, making the cables run in the opposite direction. The right front is worked the same. After all pieces have been knitted, the side seams are sewn, leaving a slit on both sides. Next, stitches are picked up around the front edges and across the back neck to work a garter edge. Finally, a similar garter edge is worked around the armholes.
